Alfred Bourgeois - Killer father EXECUTED for raping and torturing daughter, 2, before smashing her head on dashboard

ALFRED Bourgeois, the truck driver who killed his toddler daughter in 2002 by repeatedly smashing her head into his truck's dashboard and window, was executed on Friday.
The 56-year-old dad from Louisiana was the second inmate to be put to death at a federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana in as many days.

He was pronounced dead by lethal injection at 8:21pm CT - his execution is the 10th carried out by the federal government this year.
In his last words, Bourgeois didn't offer an apology and instead insisted that he neither killed nor sexually abused his baby girl.
"I ask God to forgive all those who plotted and schemed against me, and planted false evidence. And he added: I did not commit this crime," he said.
He had spent the last 17 years on death row after he was convicted in 2004 of murdering his two-year-old daughter, JG, in Texas in 2002.

While on a long-haul trucking route with the family, Bourgeois allegedly punched little JG in the face, whipped her with an electrical cord, and torched the sole of her foot with a lighter.
During a delivery at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, Bourgeois' daughter tipped over her training potty as he back up his truck into a loading dock.
That's when he suddenly became angry, grabbed JG by the shoulders, and repeatedly slammed the back of her head into the truck's dashboard and window, causing her to lose consciousness.
Bourgeois wife pleaded with him to get help and lie to first responders about the killing - but JR tragically died from her brain injuries in a hospital the following day.
At Bourgeois two-week trial in 2004, the court heard that there was also evidence of sexual abuse, prompting a unanimous decision to sentence him to death.
Despite an appeal, his death sentence and his conviction were held up.
Attorneys for the accused killer argued that Bourgeois' IQ deems him intellectually disabled, therefore he can't understand his punishments.

"Mr Bourgeois is a person with intellectual disability, and both the Constitution and the plain language of the Federal Death Penalty Act bar his execution," said defense attorney Victor J. Abreau.
Bourgeois' execution is the latest in a series of five scheduled to take place by early 2021 as the President Donald Trump tries to rush them through ahead of Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20.
His death comes hours after death row inmate Brandon Bernard was executed for the 1999 murder of youth ministers Todd and Stacie Bagley.

The federal government put the 40-year-old federal prisoner to death by lethal injection and was pronounced dead at 9:27pm CT on Thursday at the same federal prison in Indiana.
Bernard was only 18 years old at the time of the crime, and he allegedly bought the lighter fluid used to torch the Bagleys' bodies inside an accomplice's vehicle.
Kim Kardashian West, who revealed details of their heartbreaking final chat hours before Bernard's execution, was at the forefront of a campaign arguing for his sentence to be commuted.
He spent more than three minutes delivering his final words, saying he had been waiting for this chance to apologize not only to the victims' family, but also for the pain he caused his own family.

"I'm sorry," he said, lifting his head from the gurney, and looking at witness-room windows towards those observing his execution.

He added: "That's the only words that I can say that completely capture how I feel now and how I felt that day."
Referring to his part in the Todd and Stacie Bagleys' killings, Bernard said: "I wish I could take it all back, but I can't."
