A MODEL in her sixties has revealed the anti-aging product that she swears by for a youthful glow.
She raved that the skincare item that works “wonders” for mature skin has become easier to find in recent years.

Cynthia Gouw (@cynthiagouw) boasts over 266,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares anti-aging tips for midlife women.
She took to the social media platform to reveal the “most important” product to use for defying the signs of aging.
“I’m giving you the straight tea on all things life and beauty,” she said.
She held up a product that’s a staple of her skincare routine as she began to reveal its benefits.

“I’m talking about the OG [original gangster] tretinoin, this thing can do wonders for your skin but there’s lots of confusion surrounding it.
“Yes, tretinoin requires a prescription.
“That’s why it was often hard to get, however, there are websites now that offer telemedicine like Apostrophe and Musely where you can get products for as low as $30.
“So it’s far more accessible now.”

Apostrophe doesn’t list the price for tretinoin on its website but says that the topical medication has both acne and anti-aging benefits.
A dermatologist who works for the company adds that tretinoin is “safe to use long-term” and keeps skin clear.
“Now you may be asking about over-the-counter retinol,” Cynthia said.
“Over-the-counter retinol converts to retinoic acid, which is tretinoin but how much gets converted is the big question.

“You’re not going to have that purge which means you might use the product more often.
“However, you will not see as dramatic a result as when you use tretinoin.
“So the next question is adapalene as effective as tretinoin?
“Well, adapalene is available over the counter. It’s called Differin, Differin binds a different receptor than tertinoin.
“The jury is still out on whether it is as powerful as tretinoin.
“There is some anti-aging benefit but it’s probably not as powerful as the original tretinoin.”
Cynthia penned a lengthy caption to accompany the video in which she listed further benefits of using tretinoin.
“Tretinoin! The OG [original gangster] because it turns heads with its anti-aging superpowers,” she wrote.
“From banishing wrinkles to bestowing a glow that even your best highlighter can’t match, it’s the ultimate skin revival you didn’t know you needed.

Cynthia said tretinoin is seen as the “gold standard” for anti-aging and is more effective than adapalene.

Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A, which can come in both topical and oral forms.
