A MYSTERIOUS coin has turned out to be worth $7,000 thanks to a "Scarface" minting error.
The piece was found lying in a box by a man who believed it could be worth something, but had no idea of its true value.

Jake appeared on the History show Pawn Stars to present his 1888 O Morgan Silver dollar to get a valuation and hopefully sell the coin.
This coin has the nickname "Scarface" due to a rare minting error.
During the process, the minting machine broke, leaving a crack down the side of Lady Liberty's face.
Some of these cracked coins accidentally got out into circulation, although it is estimated there are only around 19 of them in existence today.

The mintmark "O" indicates that it was minted in New Orleans, and Jake's piece was graded at MS63.
"The Morgan silver dollar, to this day, is the most popular collector coin in the United States," said shop owner Rick Harrison.
"I found it in a box, it's been sitting in my collection for about four years," revealed Jake.
"I thought it was a scratch for years and did some research and found out it's actually pretty rare."

'SIGNIFICANT ERROR'
Jake wanted $15,000 for his coin, but Rick had to call in a friend to asses its true value.
David Vagi, director at NGC Ancients, was impressed as he began inspecting the piece.
"This is one of the most significant of the errors of Morgan Dollars," he said.
"This one is particularly expensive because it's just a huge die break."
David continued: "This die was probably literally almost falling apart when this coin was struck."
He estimated it to be worth around $7,000.
But the expert added that it could be worth up to $20,000, had it been in slightly better condition.
Jake decided to pass on Rick's offer of $4,500, saying he had received higher offers in the past.
