Power show boss teases epic Tommy Egan and Tariq St Patrick reunion in Book II: Ghost

POWER'S show boss has teased an epic Tommy Egan and Tariq St Patrick reunion in Book II: Ghost.

The original Starz series came to an end earlier this year, with viewers finally finding out who killed James 'Ghost' St. Patrick.

It turned out it was his son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr), and Power Book II: Ghost will follow him and his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) in the aftermath of that fatal event.

Meanwhile Tommy (Joseph Sikora) decided to abandon his life in New York and leave the city for a new life.

While he is set to return to series in Power Book V: Force, show runner Courtney Kemp has teased that fans could see him a lot sooner.

Interacting with fans on her Instagram, she wrote: "Will Tariq ever see Tommy again? Oh, you gotta watch Book II for that answer.”

Power Book II: Ghost will also feature new characters, including Mary J. Blige and Method Man.

Filming had been well underway on the spin-off before production was shut down by the coronavirus pandemic, and Courtney recently revealed she had tried to get the first few episodes to run on the network.

She said: "I asked the network if we could put up the episodes we already shot and edited but they said the lag time between the two halves of the season would be too long.

“Only two episodes and two days of a third episode are left to shoot, but we will probably shoot the end of season one and season two together.”

Filming had also got underway for another Power spin-off, Book III: Raising Kanan, which will feature younger versions of 50 Cent's character Kanan Stark and Tommy.

Power ran for six seasons on Starz from June 2014 until February this year and starred Omari Hardwick as James 'Ghost' St Patrick.

Power seasons 1-6 are available to stream on Netflix.
