SHAKIRA freaked out viewers who watched her Super Bowl LIV halftime show when she flashed some surprising tongue action after an impressive crowd surf.
Fresh off of her red hot Super Bowl performance, the Hips Don’t Lie singer, 43, received mixed fan reaction for one moment where she stared straight into the camera and did some wild tongue movement with sound effects.

The pop star perplexed many fans with the random move and they were quick to voice their confusion online to the ‘meme-worthy’ moment.
“What in the ever loving f**k was that tongue noise thing from Shakira?” A Twitter user asked.
“Shakira gotta chill with her tongue,” another person Tweeted along with a gif of a goat trying to lick the camera.
Someone posted the viral Claire Danes calculations meme along with the caption: “me trying to figure out why the f**k shakira thought doing that tongue thing on live tv was a good idea.”

A fan who caught the performance said the gesture actually goes deeper than people realize and explained why the singer might have done it.
“Chiming in because I know everyone will be making jokes about this for days — this is a popular Arab tradition, called zaghrouta, used to express joy at celebrations.
“In the melting pot that is Miami, you could not have picked a better Super Bowl act and this was a lovely touch,” the Twitter user praised.

The entertainer comes from Lebanese heritage on her father's side and the move may have been done to honor her family with the Arabic tradition that's commonly done at weddings.
The She Wolf songstress took the stage with Jennifer Lopez, 50, for an incredible and historic performance.
Shakira performed first in a stunning two-piece red glitter dress and showed her hips truly do not lie as she seductively danced across the stage.
She sang her medley of hits - which included She Wolf, Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don't Lie - joined by a sea of dancers in matching red costumes and Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny.
J. Lo came out next for a sexy performance of her most famous tracks which included Jenny From the Block, I'm Real, Get Right, Booty and On the Floor.

She amazed the crowd with impressive moves during a sexy pole dance where she showed her body strength as she twirled above the crowd.
The two pop superstar's closed the show with an epic booty-shaking performance of Shakira's smash hit Waka Waka for a fiery duet.
While some fans focused on the musician’s tongue, many praised Shakira and her co-headliner for their impressive act.
