A DRIVER has shared how they turned their cracked, sun-damaged driveway into a brand-new lot for just $30.

In a YouTube, the driver explained how they applied airport-grade materials during a driveway glow-up.

"This is an easy way to paint your driveway," the YouTuber, a long-time DIYer with nearly 20,000 subscribers (@doitdoit), wrote in the video's caption.

"It will look like new."

The YouTuber said she applied an acrylic sealer with a paint roller on the driveway.

She centered the acrylic driveway sealer in the YouTube video - it claimed to be "airport extreme" on the jug's label.

She said the sealer only cost her $30.

"Before you start painting, remember you have to wash the [driveway], and let it dry," she said.

The driver also suggested applying two coats of the sealer onto the pavement to maintain its strength.

"In order to make it look nice and [make sure] you don't have patches, you have to make straight lines with the product," the YouTuber said while filming the paint-rolling technique.

"That is the only way to make it look good."

After the first coat, the DIYer suggested leaving the wet acrylic to dry for an hour.

Drivers can also brush the driveway's borders to maintain an even application, she suggested.

The second coat, which requires another hour of dry period, completely hid any light-stain damage on the original surface.

Instead, an even, dark black veneer appeared on the pavement.

Once the coating is dry, water cannot touch the driveway for at least 24 hours, the driver said.

Homeowners looking to apply the coating should check the weather for any precipitation before applying acrylics to their pavement surfaces, she warned.

"This job is really simple," she said.

"Epic," a commenter said about the video.

BORDER SUGGESTIONS

Another DIYer also applied a coating to their driveway - they have a quick suggestion to keep the sealant out of the grass.

The other driver, who fixed her long, cracked driveway for $300, said drivers should find a sheet of plywood.

She wedged the plywood plank between the grass and the end of the pavement to differentiate the driveway and the lawn.

"If you don’t want two-toned grass for a few weeks, this works great," Robyn, the DIYer wrote.

She said she would have done the project sooner if she knew how easy the application would be.
