What happened to Aidan Kearney?

For months, Aidan Kearney had been documenting the case of Karen Read on his website and channel.

Read is currently in prison after being charged with murdering her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe.

Despite her pleading not guilty, Read is set to go to trial on March 12, 2024.

In lieu of Kearney advocating Read's innocence, the Massachusetts blogger had been confronting witnesses on the case.

When was Aidan Kearney arrested?

Aiden Kearney was arrested on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, wearing a "Free Karen Read" sweatshirt.

Special Prosecutor Ken Mello said Massachusetts State Police arrested Kearney and took him to Stoughton District Court where he was arraigned.

According to local ABC affiliate WCVB, prosecutors asked that Kearney be held on a $1,000 cash bail and a GPS monitor, the judge released Kearney, however, with orders he must follow.

Kearney pleaded not guilty to 16 charges and was ordered to stay away from all witnesses in relation to the Read case.

Contact with witnesses includes in-person, mail, email, text messages, phone, and social media.

If Kearney violates these orders, the judge can subject him to 90 days in jail without bail.

Kearney was once again arrested on December 26, 2023, and is now facing charges in relation to a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend.

He appeared in court, where he was denied bail by a Dedham District judge.

Court documents show that he is being charged with assault and battery, and is accused of grabbing and pushing a woman he had dated in her apartment, according to Telegram.

The second arrest comes just days after Kearney was warned by another judge that his bail could be revoked.

In court, Mello said that Kearney had intimidated a witness less than 24 hours after the Friday arraignment.

He also claimed that the alleged assault was Kearney's attempt to intimidate a witness who was slated to testify in front of a grand jury.

Kearney's lawyer denied the claims and said his client was the one being targeted by a government conspiracy.

"I think the government wanted to get Mr. Kearney," the lawyer told the judge.
