Zac Efron sparks concern as he reveals health issue on Today show after host points out star’s unusual appearance

ZAC Efron has appeared on Today with an unusual addition to his appearance.

The actor revealed a health issue that warranted the accessory when the morning show host pointed it out.

On Wednesday, Zac, 36, appeared on Today, alongside Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simons.

They were there to promote their latest movie, The Iron Claw, which hits theaters on December 22.

After Craig Melvin introduced the movie and showed a clip, he turned to the men on the couch.

"So, Zac Efron is a legitimate, bona fide Hollywood superstar," Craig, 44, said.

Zac's co-stars nodded and agreed with the host.

"But that is not why he is wearing sunglasses today."

"No, I'm sorry, man," Zac said, touching the glasses.

"I feel weird being in shades. I just have a bit of an eye infection."

"But, I really wanted to be here," the High School Musical alum explained. "Such a good movie. I wanted to come see you guys and tell everyone about it."

Zac and his co-stars underwent dramatic transformations to their bodies to film their upcoming movie.

'I'M WORRIED'

Clips from the interview were posted on X, formerly Twitter.

This led fans to express their concern for the actor.

"I worry about Zac," one fan wrote.

"Omg Zac wearing shades inside is not normal! He’s not well. He’s having eye problems for sure," another said.

"I hope Zac is ok!" added a third.

A CHANGE IN APPEARANCE

This is not the only health issue Zac has faced recently.

Fans noticed a change to his appearance in April 2021 when he appeared in a Facebook Watch video with Bill Nye.

They thought Zac's jawline appeared much squarer than it did in the past.

And his jaw did change.

Zac opened up in a 2022 issue of Men's Health about the injury that changed his face.

"He’d been running through his house in socks and slipped, smacking his chin against the granite corner of a fountain. He lost consciousness, and when he woke up, he recalls, his chin bone was hanging off his face," the outlet reported.

Zac told Men's Health that the masseter muscles, which are used for chewing, work together with the other muscles in the face and after pausing physical therapy to film his Netflix show, the muscles grew.

He also denied having plastic surgery on his face.
